As if there is a dearth of American actors and journalists, American movie industry and Television rely on many actors and some journalists from the North for their talents !! Michael Moore, who is not from Canada, has made a career out of making documentaries about Americas problems like the effect of shifting manufacturing jobs to Mexico and China, the double faced company executives and callous politicians.

Synopsis:

I was not aware that he made this full length feature film about the defunct arms industry that is forced to close arms manufacturing plants [because all the enemies of America are either dead or have declared themselves to be America's allies] thus affecting the lives of workers who depend upon it for livelihood. So how can a president whose popularity is falling as indicated by polls create a 'situation' leading to war ? His aides, who appear to be bumbling fools, come up with a plan to choose Canada as its newest enemy. The security adviser to the President orchestrates an explosion of its own power plant [by dressing up some Americans in Canadian dresses] so they can start a propaganda war on its media against Canada to convince the American public !!  

The heroes in this movie are a bunch of semi literate but very loyal Americans (John Candy, Rhea Perlman and company) who take it upon themselves to save America from its most current enemy Canada.  It might seem far fetched that a failing American arms manufacturing company has sold electronic tools to Canada, that give them the capability to  launch American missiles, from a secret location inside a famous Canadian tower (which is a tourist attraction). The launch of these missiles is activated from the Canadian tower as the propaganda war heats up !!The president , in the end, gets credit for saving America from Canada, while in fact the act of saving was performed by that gun toting lady from the semi-literate group. She destroys that entire electronic contraption and aborts the missile launches with the big gun she had purchased for $25 at the auction held across the border near Niagara Falls, N.Y. !!!

Michael Moore informs us about the power of semi-literates who have enough practical knowledge to run boats, handle guns and fight like loyal soldiers as they fall prey to the media propaganda against Canada !!  I hope the missile silos shown in the movie are real.

This movie is a simpler, sillier cousin of the much talked about 'Wag The Dog" !
